Lake Bank Restoration & Lake Quality Update

  • Bobby Dumont, bobbydumont@yahoo

Work continues on lake bank restoration efforts throughout the community. Dredging on Lakes #6 and #7 has been completed, and crews are now beginning dredging on the golf course section across from Silver Oaks. This ongoing work is designed to improve water flow, lake health, and overall appearance.

As new sod is installed along the resident side of lake banks, homeowners are reminded to ensure their irrigation systems adequately reach the newly planted areas. Proper watering will help establish healthy root systems and protect the investment in restoration.

Aquatic planting is scheduled for late March, weather permitting. Residents may notice that pickelweed plants are currently showing seasonal “rust,” which is typical for this time of year. These plants are expected to recover as spring temperatures return.

Riprap repairs are underway near the bridges at Grand Palm and Fairway Bend and are expected to be completed in early February. Aeration piston cleaning is also scheduled for completion this month to support continued lake quality improvements.
